Odour emissions from building products
Evaluating the quality of indoor air goes hand in hand with the chemical testing of odour emissions from building products.

How can we help?
We use test chambers to assess any odorous emissions from building products. This emission testing will determine the odour’s acceptability and intensity, as well as its hedonic tone (how pleasant, unpleasant or offensive it is). Its benefits are twofold:
- It gives manufacturers, builders and end users an evaluation of the odour impact of building products on the indoor air quality.
- It promotes product development and optimisation.
We can analyse products – for example, using test chambers according to ISO 16000-28 – under realistic conditions similar to their everyday use in buildings. We can also analyse the final impact on the indoor air quality using our twin room facility (four identical rooms, each 10m2).
