A highly experienced and accomplished international odour expert, sensory specialist and company director.
Nick has over twenty years of specialist experience as an consultant on environmental odour impact assessment and control. This has included delivery of several hundred projects for a wide range of clients in the public, wastewater, waste, food, agricultural, and industrial sectors. He has also conducted research and provided advice on odour assessment and control to a wide range of public and private organisations that include the UK Environment Agency, UK Government, Irish Environmental protection Agency, UK Water Industry Research Ltd, and the composting/waste sector.
He manages a team of specialists that offer a full range of independent consultancy services to assess, control and manage odour related problems, including laboratory odour analysis, environmental impact assessments, environmental management, dispersion modelling, and permitting.
Nick is also responsible for Odournet’s UK team of product and material testing specialists who offer a range of bespoke services for evaluating the sensory properties of consumer products for research purposes, proof of claim studies, and product optimisation. He is an experienced expert witness and has represented private and public clients in numerous civil and criminal cases.
He currently represents the British Standards Institute (BSI) within a number of European working groups developing odour related standards.
