Proficiency Test for Natural Gas Odorisation
gas odorisation - proficiency test
Natural gas is odorised to provide the consumer with a personal safety mechanism and to ensure that end users can detect leaks by their smell. It is important that the odour concentration of the gas is strictly controlled to maintain a constant sensory alarm level at the point of use.
Odournet offers interlaboratory tests for gas odorisation in order to:
- Increase the reliability of results through the sensory analysis of blind samples from several laboratories;
- Identify qualified laboratories which can independently carry out regular measurements.
These interlaboratory tests are carried out on the basis of various national norms, including:
- DVGW G 280 - 1:2004-08
- AFG specifications - Odeur du GPL (Com D/N39 Rev4)
