Sensory analysis
sensory analysis
The measuring of odours requires human "noses" as a sensory tester.
In order to obtain valid test results with high repeatability using the perception of human smell, the accurate selection, training and monitoring of the assessors used is essential.
The processes, methods and target parameters applied in sensory analysis are diverse:
- Accredited odour concentration analysis (ouE/m3) according to EN 13725
- Hedonic tone and odour intensity
- Odour character and acceptance
- Odour quality determinations
- Odour threshold determination of pure substances and odour mixtures
- Certification of the sensory acuity of human assessors and regulatory personnel according to standard EN 13725
- Odour reduction rate
- Longevity of odorants and aromas / decay curves
- Masking
- Gas odorisation
- Cross Tests of product variants
Bespoke testing procedures can also be developed on request.
