Olfactometry
odour analysis to CEN 13725
 |
The odour concentration of
a gaseous sample is determined by presentation to a panel
of observers, with known acuity to odour, in varying dilutions.
The odour concentration is then expressed in multiples
of one European Odour Unit (ouE). This analysis technique
provides directly comparable data for different odour
types, and used for input into dispersion models to determine
odour impact in terms of annoyance and abatement efficiency
assessments. |
Analysis is conducted in full accordance with the standard
for olfactometry CEN EN13725:2003 in Odournet’s in-house
laboratories. Analysis services are provided for samples collected
by Odournet consultants, and samples collected by clients.
Arrangement of third party courier services for delivery of
sample bags and collection of samples, for analysis within
the 30 hours time limit as specified by CEN EN 13725:2003,
are also provided where required.
