Umwelt”. The languages for presentations will

Congress on Acoustics, the IV Iberic Congress on Acoustics,
the XXXV Congress on Acoustics -Tecniacústica 2004-,

Acoustics. These events will be the forum to present
the newest findings in the various fields of acoustics, a
discipline that is more and more important in technological

2004 September 13 Phil Branchflower will present a paper at Second National Conference of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management(CIWEM). The presentation is entitled "Odour assessments: what is required, and how can it be done?". It will discuss not only the methodologies used in undertaking odour assessments, but also how they can be effectively used to satisfy the requirements of different regulatory regimes. - Conference on the Control and Prevention of Odorous Emission. A one day conference supported by the EPSRC
Odour Network. Odournet will be represented by its chairman,
Ton van Harreveld, with a paper titled Odour Measurement –
the next steps.

UK were invited to give 2 key presentations at Thames Waters
Global Technology Workshop regarding Odour Measurement and
Control Technology for Wastewater Plants. The workshop
was organised by Thames Water and delegates from the UK, Germany
and Chile attended. Nick Jones presented details of the current
regulatory regime in the UK as regards odours from wastewater
treatment facilities, and outlined the implications of possible
future developments. Philip Branchflower outlined the techniques
and tools used in the UK to assess the risk of wastewater
treatment plant causing odour nuisance, and how they could
be applied to meet the requirements of future regulations.

Best Practice Techniques For Odour Control, a one day conference
organised by Terence Dalton Ltd.
Following the new IPPC requirements and the implications of
H4 draft guidance and other EA documents, this conference
will give speakers the opportunity to discuss what impact
these may have in the UK water and waste industry, what standards
may be required for the control of odour, how they will be
applied and the best techniques for their achievement. The

2003 October 30 Programme committee for the European conference
on Odour Management, organised by VDI in Cologne,
Germany from 17-19 November 2004, chaired by Ton van Harreveld
of Odournet. The international conference on odour management
aims to bring together the European odour management community
to a major three-day conference. Consult the Call
for Papers which invites authors to submit abstracts before
January 15th, 2004.
