Singel 97, F.Stock, oil on canvas, 2001 As a rule, a project will pass through three identifiable stages. There is an initial phase of odour source characterisation. For an existing plant, odour samples are used as the basis for analysis. In the case of proposed installations, expected emission rates can be estimated using data on typical emission rates from our extensive knowledge base. The second stage is assessment of the potential for causing odour annoyance using the latest dispersion modelling software. Graphical representations in the form of contours on a map of the area indicate where odour nuisance is likely. Finally, an odour abatement strategy is defined, that aims to find a balance between the interests of the community and the costs that industry incurs. PRA OdourNet BV is owned by OdourNet Holding BV. The foundations for the group were laid in the Netherlands and the Dutch company has contributed most in the field of research and development. The OdourNet R&D team works within the Amsterdam office. |
