Odournet helps
industry in the art of being a good neighbour by providing specialist
services for the measurement, assessment and management of annoyance
odours.
Our team of dedicated odour consultants work from Odournet
offices across Europe and build on over 20 years of
experience in choosing the most effective route in solving your
particular odour related problem.
Achieving a balance between conflicting interests of industry
and the public typically involves quantifying the magnitude
of the emissions, assessing the scale of their impact, definition
of targets and defining a management plan to attain those targets.
To achieve this Odournet selects the most
appropriate techniques from a comprehensive range of in-house
sampling and laboratory capabilities and consultancy expertise.
Laboratory services include sensory
analyses (olfactometry to determine odour concentration EN13725,
hedonic tone, odour character) and chemical techniques, both
for screening in the field (H2S, NH3)
and advanced laboratory analysis (GC-MS). Consultancy
services include on-site process evaluations, source
sampling, field odour panels, impact assessment using dispersion
modelling, selection of environmental targets, dose effect studies,
selection of optimum odour removal techniques for cost effective odour control,
abatement plant evaluation, BAT selection, definition of integrated
odour management plans etc.
These services are supported by a strong R&D capability
to develop odour analysis and measurement tools (diluting stack
samplers, olfactometers) and provide research to underpin regulatory
policy initiatives, sector specific codes of practice.
